#6 Ranked Red Devils Finish Second at Border Battle

(Logan Township, N.J.) – The #6-ranked Dickinson women's cross country team finished second in the women's championship race at the 27-team Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils were second behind #1-ranked Johns Hopkins, who had all five runners in the top 10.

Junior Isabel Cardi (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) had an outstanding performance, slipping in front of the Blue Jays to place second overall with a time of 20:40.

Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) had a top-10 showing, placing ninth with a time of 21:29.

Senior Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) and junior Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) both finished in the top 20 with times of 21:41 and 22:17, respectively.

Junior Kylie Shalala (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) crossed the line with a mark of 22:43.

In the women's open race, the Red Devils ran to third in the field of 12. Senior Macallan Fox (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) finished in the top-20 to lead Dickinson with a time of 24:40. Classmate McKenna Spaulding (Storrs, Conn./Edwin O. Smith) was 22nd with a time of 24:51.

Mallorey FitzGerald (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) posted a time of 25:21 while Teressa Healy (Pelham, N.Y./Loyola School) and Kate Altman (Golden, Colo./Colorado Academy) added marks of 25:35 and 25:36, respectively.

The Red Devils will be off next weekend before traveling to Gettysburg College for the Centennial Conference Championships on November 2.
