Red Devils Run to Second at Connecticut College Invite

(Waterford, Conn.) – The Dickinson women's cross country team placed second at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, coming in just five points behind Middlebury College, (67-72).

Junior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) both had top 10 finishes on the day. House placed sixth overall, clocking a time of 22:06 while Johnston crossed the line in 22:07 to capture eighth.

Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) and junior Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) turned in strong performances as well, finishing 16th and 17th with times of 22:24 and 22:25, respectively.

Senior Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) posted a mark of 22:36 to finish 25th. Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) came in at 23:02 and 23:10 to score for the Red Devils.

Dickinson finished 10 points in front of third place Tufts University (82) with Williams placing fourth in the 25-team field.

The Red Devils are off next weekend as they prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships at Haverford College on October 27th.
