Women's Cross Country Claims Title at DeSales Invite

(Center Valley, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's cross country team captured the team title at the De Sales Invitational on Saturday, scoring just 28 points to better second-place Misericordia with 86 points. The event saw 25 teams of 245 runners on the course.

The Red Devils had five runners finish in the top 10, led by junior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack), crossing the line second with a time of 22:37. Sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) was right there as well, finishing fourth at 22:29.

Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) was fifth with a time of 22:43 and Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) came in at 23:10. Senior Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) claimed the 10th spot with a mark of 23:19.

First-year Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Isabella Fife (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) rounded out the Red Devils top seven, finishing 12th and 22nd, respectively, with times of 23:20 and 23:56.

The Red Devils are set to travel to the Connecticut College Invitational next Saturday.
