Women's Cross Country Wins 25th Consecutive Little Three Title

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's cross country team captured its 25th consecutive Little Three Championship, winning in dominant fashion on Friday night.

The Red Devils claimed the top seven spots for a perfect score of 15 against both Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg.

Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) led the way, making her debut as a Red Devil with a winning time of 18:51. The Red Devils crossed the line with the top 10 runners before Gettysburg was able to break up the pack.

Junior Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) was second with a mark of 18:57 with Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) coming in third, followed by Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh), all under 19:10.

Isabella Fife (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) and Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) finished in the final two scoring spots with Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) and Candace Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) were eight and ninth, and Amelia Lufrano (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) was 10th.

Gettysburg defeated F&M, 20-41 to place second.

The Red Devils have captured 26 titles overall and three straight individual championship.

Dickinson is off next weekend before hosting the Long/Short Invitational at Big Spring High School on September 22nd as part of homecoming.
