Red Devils Capture Second at Worthington Classic

(Washington, D.C.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team advanced to the final of the Worthington Classic at Gallaudet on Saturday, defeating Ramapo College, 3-0, on Saturday morning. The Red Devils took a 3-0 tournament record into the final but suffered a 3-0 setback to Marymount University.

The Red Devils had a strong match to start the day, posting scores of (25-17, 25-13, 25-20) to advance to the championship.

First-year Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) tallied nine kills while classmate Emma Lange (Jupiter, Fla./Benjamin) added eight and four blocks.

Sophomore setter Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 30 assists, adding 11 digs and three block assists. Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) led the defensive effort with 14 digs while Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) reached double-figures with 10.

Kylie Albertsen (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge) and Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) each added five kills while Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) chipped in with eight digs and a pair of aces.

Marymount topped the Red Devils to improve to 16-2 on the season, going (25-14, 25-16, 25-21) to capture the title.

Singer added seven kills and six digs in the nightcap, earning All-Tournament Team honors for her weekend performance.

Biggs added six kills while Allgaier finished with 15 assists, seven digs and two block assists. Lopez and Banker picked up 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

The Red Devils move to 7-11 overall. They return home and to Centennial Conference action on Wednesday, hosting Johns Hopkins University at 7:00 pm.
