Three Red Devils Set to Run at NCAA Championships

(Boston, Mass.) – The Dickinson women's indoor track & field team had three runners qualify for the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championships in Boston this weekend. The Red Devils open competition on Friday afternoon at 12:30 pm at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

Junior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) will run in the 3000-meters at 12:30 pm while sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) will compete in the 5000-meters at 7:20 on Friday evening.

House earned All-Region honors, finishing top five in the 3000-meters after running to All-Region honors in the 5000-meters in 2017. She placed second at the Centennial championships to earn Second-team All-Conference honors in the 3000-meters this winter.

Johnston was an All-Region selection in the 5000-meters, placing fourth at the conference championships while adding a fifth-place showing in the 3000-meters as well while Cardi placed in the top-five in the 3000-meters to earn All-Region honors. She had a great weekend at the conference championships, earning First-team honors with the distance medley relay and Second-team honors in the mile.

The Red Devils earned eight All-Conference honors while four runners earned All-Region recognition. They were also well represented on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll as 22 student-athletes were recognized. House held the highest grade-point-average among All-Conference performers and was named the Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
