(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team had some strong performances at the Haverford College Holiday Invitational on Saturday.
The Red Devils had a dominant performance in the 5000-meters, placing six runners in the top-10 and nine in the top-15. Junior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) won the race with a time of 17:36.94.
First-year Lana Ljoka (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) won the triple jump with a distance of 9.64 meters and placed sixth in the long jump, clearing 4.33 meters.
First-year Alexandra Colby (Higham, Mass./Hingham) joined the 4x200 and placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles and ninth in the 200. Sophomore Cara Dougherty (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) was part of the 4x200 and ran with Nelson on the 4x400 for a sixth-place finish.
Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) won the mile (5:16.89) and placed fifth in the 800 meters. Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) was second in the mile and second in the 800 while Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) crossed the line fourth and seventh in the 800 and mile, respectively. Sophia Brown (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) was seventh in the 800.
Senior Naji Thompson (Springfield, Va./Oak Knoll) claimed silver in the 200 meters with a time of 27.94.
The Red Devils return to competition on January 19th, traveling to the Orange & Maroon Classic at Susquehanna University.
