Women's Tennis Claims 6-3 Win Over Bullets

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team turned back Gettysburg College, 6-3, at the Hays Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.

The Red Devils opened a 2-1 lead, winning first and third doubles as Joana Nunes (Carcavelos, Portugal/St. Julian's) and Madison Parks (Denton, Md./North Caroline) claimed a 9-7 decision in the top flight.

Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) and Madeleine Kuhns-Baione (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) earned the point at number three, 8-3.

Parks and Nunes went the second and third singles flights in straight sets as Parks went (6-0, 6-0) and Nunes won her match, (6-0, 6-1).

Kuhns-Baione survived a three-set marathon for the point at number five (7-5, 4-6, 12-10) while Fox took the sixth, (6-0, 6-2).

The Red Devils improve to 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Bryn Mawr College for a 1:00 match.
