(Scranton, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team posted its fourth straight win, matching the men's score on Saturday in a 119-86 win at the University of Scranton.
The Red Devils had some impressive performances on the day. They went one-two in the 50-freestyle with Caroline Wasielevski (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) and Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) earned the top points in the event. Wasielevski anchored the 200-medley relay to a win and claimed the top spot in the 100-freestyle as well.
Sternick joined the medley relay as well and added another win in the 100-butterfly.
Senior Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) swept the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle events and earned a second with the 200-free relay. First-year Caroline Christianson (Olney, Md./Sherwood) brought home three second-place finishes, in the 200 and 500-freestyle and with the 200-free relay. Hadley Starr (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) was third in the 1000.
First-year Sarah Caron (Chestertown, Md./St. Andrews) led-off the winning medley relay and added a win in the 100-backstroke and was second as the anchor in the free relay. Junior Samantha Werner (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) was third in the backstroke.
Sophomore Brooke Kelly (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) captured a win in the 200-yard freestyle and first-year Lauren Woznicki (Media, Pa./Penncrest) joined the winning medley. Samantha Florio (Stamford, Conn./Wilson) led-off the second-place free relay.
The Red Devils improve to 4-1 on the season. They return home next Saturday to face the Division II Huskies of Bloomsburg University at 1:00 pm.
