(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team had a strong start and captured its ninth win of the season and fifth straight, turning back visiting Franklin & Marshall 146.5-114.5 on Senior Day at the Clarke Aquatic Center.
Senior Katie Schmidt (Plymouth, Minn./Breck School) led-off the 400-medley relay to a winning time of 4:05.95. She added wins in the 100-backstroke (1:01.43) and the 200-backstroke (2:10.73) and was second with the 400-free relay.
Senior Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) was a triple-winner on the day. She won the 1000, 500 and 200-yard freestyle events, clocking times of 10:41.71, 5:18.39 and 1:58.79, respectively. First-year Sasha Arefyev (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side) was right behind Lyman, claiming second in the 200 and 500-freestyle and swimming the second leg of the free relay.
Junior Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) had a successful afternoon, joining the medley relay and adding three individual wins on the day. She touched the wall first in the 50 and 100-freestyle and in the 100-yard butterfly. She put up marks of 25.23 and 55.36 in the freestyle and finished in 1:00.32 in the fly.
Senior Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) anchored the winning medley-relay and the second-place free relay while junior Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) claimed silver in the 200-individual medley.
Sophomore Hannah Griffith (Lansdale, Pa./William Penn Charter) won the 100-breaststoke (1:10.94) and placed second in the 200-breaststroke, joining the medley relay for gold as well.
The Red Devils improve to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Wednesday, hosting Gettysburg College at 7:00 pm.
