(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team had a strong finish to secure a 143-119 victory over visiting University of Scranton on Saturday. The Red Devils had little time to recover from a Friday night victory at Bryn Mawr College, but turned in some solid performances.
Senior Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) earned four wins on the day. She was first in the 1000 and 500 freestyle events, clocking times of 10:58.12 and 5:32.02, respectively. Lyman added another win in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:00.76 and joined the 400-free relay for her fourth in the extended program.
Madison Littlepage (Aldie, Va./John Champe) flipped her results from Friday, taking second in the 1000 and finishing third in the 500.
Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner for the third straight meet, claiming the 50 freestyle (24.98) and the 100-butterfly (1:00.89) before anchoring the 400-free relay.
Katie Schmidt (Plymouth, Minn./Breck School) led-off the medley relay and touched the wall second in the 100-backstroke with a mark of 1:02.69.
Senior Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) and Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) placed first with the 400 free relay. Bonner added third-place finish in the 200 free while Boswell was second in the 200-medley relay and third in both the 50 free and 100 butterfly events.
First-year Sasha Arefyev (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side) earned three silvers on the day, swimming the 200 and 500 freestyle and the anchor leg of the medley relay.
First-year Maddi Vlattas (Herndon, Va./Westfield) joined the medley relay as well, adding a second-place showing in the 200 individual medley and third in the 100 breaststroke, finishing just behind Hannah Griffith (Lansdale, Pa./William Penn Charter).
The Red Devils improve to 4-1 on the season. They are on the road next Saturday, traveling to Bloomsburg University to face the Division II Huskies at 1:00 pm.
