Women's Swimming Takes Down Terror 119-79

(Newville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team returned to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, rolling to a 119-79 win over McDaniel College, at Big Spring High School.

Junior Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) looked solid in her return from abroad, winning the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 11:07.99 and 5:26.48.

First-year Madison Littlepage (Aldie, Va./John Champe) had strong showings in the distance events as well, claiming second in the 1000 (11:36.77) and third in the 500 (5:34.55). Sophomore Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) touched the wall second in the 500 (5:29.36) and captured first in the 200 individual medley with a mark of 2:19.44.

Sophomore Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner on the day, joining the medley relay for a time of 1:54.68, and placing first in the 50 freestyle (25.69) and the 100 butterfly (59.62).

Senior Samantha Holden (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) anchored the winning medley relay and led-off a strong exhibition free relay. She also added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.54.

First-year Hannah Griffith (Lansdale, Pa./William Penn Charter) posted wins in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.71) and swam the second leg of the medley relay.

Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) had a pair of silver medal performances, finishing second in the 100 and 200 freestyle events, clocking marks of 57.30 and 2:05.34.

Lindsay Robinson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was second in the 200 individual medley (2:22.72) and Samantha Werner (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) finished third in the 200 free (2:06.99).

The Red Devils improve to 5-3 on the season and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road next Saturday, traveling to Washington College for a 2:00 pm start.
