(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team returned to the win column on Saturday, posting a 3-0 shutout over visiting York College.

First-year Ashleigh Violette (Madison, Conn./Hand) put the Red Devils on the board, finishing a cross from junior Caitlin Gugliotta (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) in the 28th minute.

The Red Devils doubled the lead, just over 10 minutes later as junior Rachel Lazris (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) fed a well-played through ball to classmate Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) for her first goal of the season.

The Red Devils added an insurance goal in the 61st minute with junior Elizabeth Krause (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) scoring off an assist from sophomore Amanda Stober (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City).

The Red Devils held a slim edge in shots, 13-11 and forced three corners while allowing two on the defensive end. Senior goaltender Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) made nine saves to earn the shutout. She came up big, stopping a well struck penalty kick in the opening five minutes.

Sydney Kahn stopped seven shots as York falls to 1-3 on the season.

The Red Devils improve to 3-1 overall. They are on the road tomorrow at Alvernia University at 5:00 pm and retrun home again on Wednesday, hosting Penn State Berks at 4:30 pm. That match was originally scheduled to be played at Berks, but has been moved to Carlisle.
