(Ashland, Va.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team scored in the 100th minute to claim a 1-0 victory at Randolph-Macon College on Sunday afternoon. The teams battled scoreless through regulation, going back-and-forth throughout the entire match.
The first half saw just five shots as both defenses kept scoring opportunities to a minimum. The Red Devils held a slim, 6-5 shot advantage after the break and held a 4-1 edge in corners.
The Devils would capitalize on a corner in the first extra frame as junior Olivia Termini (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) redirected a header into the net off a serve from junior Killian Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville).
Christina Newman made four saves for the Yellow Jackets as they slip to 0-1-1 to start the season. Junior Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) made four saves for the Red Devils as they improve to 2-0.
The Red Devils return home to face the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford on Wednesday at 4:00 pm on Miller Memorial Field.
