McQuaig Named CC Women's Golf Coach of the Year

(Carlisle, Pa.) Dickinson Women's Golf Coach Scott McQuaig has been named the 2019 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year, announced on Wednesday afternoon. This is the second CC Coach of the Year recognition for McQuaig, who also received the honor in 2017.

Dickinson senior Emily Rieder (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.

The Red Devils (368-375-733) finished behind second-place Marymount University (366-353-719) as Gettysburg College claimed the title (346-348-694). The Red Devils held off Muhlenberg by one stroke to capture the bronze.

Sophomore Olivia Brown (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) was just one spot away from All-Conference, carding an 84 to finish tied for sixth with a 176.

Junior Hannah Heiring (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) tied for ninth overall with a two-day total of 181. First-year Himeno Yamane (Astoria, N.Y./Hunter College) dropped five strokes off her round from Saturday, carding an 89 to post a 183. 

Rachael Czerna (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) and Rieder turned in scores of 195 and 196, respectively.

Gettysburg won its ninth straight team title. The Red Devils finished third in 2017 and second last spring.
