Red Devils Sweep Fords With One-Run Wins

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson softball team swept a Centennial Conference double-header from visiting Haverford College on Sunday, claiming the opener, 1-0, and rallying for a 3-2 victory in the nightcap.

Nicole Clayton (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) doubled and scored on a single from classmate Alicia Lane (Sterling, Mass./Nashoba Regional) for the lone run of game one.

Junior Madison Milaszewski (Rutland, Mass./Sutton) tossed a five-hit complete game, recording four strikeouts to win the opener.

Temma Levis doubled to score two runs in the second inning of game two, putting the 'Fords on the board early.

Clayton doubled again and came in to score on another RBI single from Lane in the fourth. The Devils loaded the bases and Brigitte Gutpelet (Norristown, Pa./Penn Charter) drew a walk to pull Dickinson even.

Senior Jessica Epstein (Madison, N.J./Madison) later drove in Lane to put the Devils in front for good, 3-2.

Killian Kueny (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) recorded five strikeouts in four innings of action to earn the win while Milaszewski came on for the save. Clayton went 2-for-3 in the nightcap to lead the way at the plate.

The Red Devils improve to 17-15 overall and 4-8 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Ursinus College on Saturday for a 1:00 pm double-header.
