Men's Cross Country Receives UST&FCCCA All-Academic Honors

(New Orleans, La.) – The U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association has announced the Division III Cross Country All-Academic Teams and Individuals for the 2018 season.

Both the Dickinson men and women's programs received team recognition while seven women and two men were honored as individuals.

The Dickinson men's program had an outstanding season, capturing its 22nd consecutive Little Three Championship. The Red Devils ran to team titles in the first four meets of the season and went on to place third at the Centennial Conference Championships.

Junior Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) and first-year Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) received individual honors while Descavish also made his second appearance as one of four runners on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for student-athletes that are sophomores and above with a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.40.

Descavish was honored as a Second-team All-CC selection, placing 11th in the individual standings after earning First-team honors in 2017. He was the 2016 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year and has earned All-Region honors for the past two seasons. Descavish posted three straight second-place finishes to start the season and ran to third at the De Sales Invitational.
