Men's Cross Country Claims DC Invite Title

(Newville, Pa.)  - The Dickinson men's cross country celebrated senior day with some outstanding performances, capturing the overall combined team title at the Dickinson Long Course/Short Course Invitational at Big Spring High School.

The Red Devils won the title in the 4k, scoring 14 points and finished third in the 8k event to claim the combined title with 39 points to better second-place Shippensburg with a combined 62 on the day.

Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) came in second, just edged by Elizabethtown's Samuel Gerstenbacher as both runners crossed the line in 12:10, officially.

Senior's Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) was right there as well, placing third with a mark of 12:17 and senior Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) added a top-10 finish, coming in ninth, coming across with first-year Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) taking 10th.

First-year Charles Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) led the way in the 8k, placing fifth overall with a time of 26:46. Sophomore Odin Bules (Union Mills, N.J./South Central) finished in the top 10 with a mark of 26:54 while Matt Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) and Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) crossed the line 20th and 21st, respectively.

The Red Devils are off next week before traveling to the De Sales Invitational on October 6th.
