Men's T&F Receives Academic Honors

(New Orleans, La.) - The Dickinson men's track & field team received All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (UST&FCCCA) while one individual also received All-Academic recognition.

Junior Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) had another outstanding year on the way to earning individual honors. He ran to All-Region honors in the 5000 meters in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships. He ran to First-team All-Conference honors with the 4x800 relay at the Outdoor Centennial Championships, claiming second in the 10,000 and third in the 5000. He placed second in both the 3000 and 5000 meters at the indoor championships, adding a bronze with the 4x400 relay.

Senior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) also received individual honors, placing in the top-50, nationally, in the 10,000 meters. He had a pair of top-10 showings at the Outdoor Centennial Conference Championships, placing seventh in the 5000 and ninth in the 10k.

Descavish was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field. The Red Devil men had 11 student-athletes named to the winter academic honor roll and 12 during the outdoor season. Junior Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was the conference Scholar Athlete of the Year for both indoor and outdoor track & field.

The Red Devils finished fourth at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships and fifth outdoors, combining for four All-Conference honors indoors and nine during the outdoor season.
