(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team turned in some strong performances on Sunday at the 2019 Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships at Muhlenberg College.
First-year Ben Brandeis (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) ran to silver in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.48 and placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 16.19, both season-bests. He led-off the 4x100 relay to a sixth-place finish and anchored the 4x400 relay to eighth.
Classmate Aaron Brick (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) joined both relays and finished fourth in the finals of the 200-meters with a time of 22.70.
Senior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) was third in the 1500-meters, coming in at a season-best 3:57.02 and was part of a strong showing in the 5000, placing ninth with a time of 15:16.24.
Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) was third in the 5000, clocking a time of 14:39.05. Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) was seventh (15:12.34) and first-year Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) had a collegiate PR and was 16th.
Ellis Kimmell (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends' Central) added a 12th-place showing in the javelin, covering 34.18 meters.
The Red Devils were fifth in the team standings with 80 points on the weekend. Johns Hopkins captured the team title with 212.5 points overall. The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on May 13.
