(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's indoor track & field programs had four student-athletes named to the 2019 All-Centennial Conference team and two receive U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region recognition this winter.
Senior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) ran to his fourth All-Region honor, finishing top-five in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the 5000-meters. Herrmann claimed Second-team All-Centennial Conference honors with a silver medal in the mile, adding bronze medals in the distance medley relay and the 4x400 relay.
Junior Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) also ran to All-Region in 5000-meters. He earned a pair of Second-team All-Conference honors, placing second in both the 5000 and 3000-meter events at the conference championships and joined the 4x400 relay to capture bronze.
Descavish makes his third appearance on the All-Region team, placing in the top-five in the Mideast in the 5000. He received All-Region recognition during the 2018 outdoor season in both the 5000 and 10,000-meters.
Junior Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) earned Second-team honors in the pole vault for the third straight season, adding silver and bronze medals at the 2017 and 2018 outdoor championships.
Senior Francisco Villarreal (Carson, Calif./Carson) turned in a strong performance in the throwing events. He claimed Second-team in the weight throw. In addition, Villarreal was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils finished fourth at the 2019 Indoor Championships, coming in just four points behind third-place Swarthmore (94-90). The Red Devils open competition for the outdoor season at the Elizabethtown Early Bird Invitational, scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd.
