Hepner Breaks School 800 Meter Record

(Swarthmore, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Mason Hepner (Mount Joy, Pa./Manheim Central) broke the school record in the 800 meters at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Monday night, crossing the line ninth overall in 1:52.39. He breaks the mark set by Jonathan Jackson (1:52.85), in 2014. That time is the second-fastest mark in the Centennial Conference this season as well.

Sophomore Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) clocked a season-best in the 1500 meters with a mark of 3:53.96.

First-year Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) placed sixth in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:33.27 while junior Hannah Gore (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) added a top 20 showing in the 1500, posting a time of 4:40.49.

Senior Aphnie Germain (Orange, N.J./Orange) and sophomore Naji Thompson (Springfield, N.J./Oak Knoll) clocked times of 12.61 and 12.83 in the 100 meters while Germain had a time of 25.97.

The combined with Lauren Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) and Natalie Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Jersey) for a time of 50.24 in the 4x100 relay.

The Red Devils will now wait for the final qualifying lists for the NCAA Championships.
