Hepner, Hopkins Earn All-Region Track & Field Honors

(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Mason Hepner (Mount Joy, Pa./Manheim Central) and sophomore Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) were named to the 2017 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region Indoor Track & Field Team.

Hepner had a strong showing at the end of the season, breaking three school records in a span of just six days. He earned All-Region honors, ranking second in the Mideast in the mile, breaking the school record (4:12.80) at the Ursinus Final Qualifier to qualify for the NCAA National Championships this weekend.

Hepner set new school marks in the 800 meters and as the anchor of the 4x800 relay, winning Centennial Conference titles in both with a time of 1:55.64, individually, and 7:57.58 in the relay.

Hopkins earned All-Region honors, ranking third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:02.69 this season. He also clocked a time of 8:35.22 to claim second in the 3,000 meters at the conference championships.

Hepner will join classmate Adriana Frayne-Reixa (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) at the national championships this weekend at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
