Men's Tennis Turns Back Terror 9-0

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team turned in a dominant performance on Tuesday, posting a 9-0 victory over visiting McDaniel College.

The Red Devils rolled through doubles, surrendering just two points in three flights. Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and Justin Pace (Madison, N.J./Daniel Hand) won the top flight 8-1 while Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis School) and Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) pitched a shutout with an 8-0 decision in the second.

Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) and Bryce Perritt (Allentown, Pa./Lawrenceville) put the Red Devils up, 3-0, taking the third flight 8-1.

The Red Devils had similar success in the singles, holding the Green Terror to two games. Sorkin claimed the top spot (6-0, 6-1) while Pace went (6-0, 6-0) in the second.

Coan claimed the third flight while Andrew Lai (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater) and Perritt captured the fifth and sixth spots, all going (6-0, 6-0). Chen rolled to a (6-1, 6-0) win in the fourth.

The Red Devils improve to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are home against on Saturday, hosting Swarthmore College at 1:00 pm.
