(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker at Haverford, falling 5-4, on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had a strong start, taking second and third doubles to lead 2-1, heading into singles.
Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis) and Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) earned the point in the second flight with an 8-5 decision while Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvador/Escuela Americans) and Andrew Lai (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater) claimed the third by a score of 8-5 as well.
Sorkin earned his second point of the match with a (6-2, 7-5) victory in the top singles flight. Coan added the final point for the Devils with a (6-4, 6-4) win in the third flight. Bolanos had a strong showing in a (6-4, 6-4) setback in the fourth.
The Red Devils slip to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in the Centennial Conference.
