Men's Tennis Suffers Setback at TCNJ

(Ewing, N.J.) – The Dickinson men's and women's tennis teams had similar results, both traveling to The College of New Jersey on Saturday for indoor matches at the Hopewell Tennis Club.

The Lions came away with a pair of 9-0 decisions on the day.

First-year Priscah Rodenhuis (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) and senior Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) played well in doubles, falling 8-6 while Hanna Butler (Gibson Island, Md./Severn School) and Neve Brennan (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) suffered an 8-5 setback in the second doubles flight.

Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) and Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis School) battled to an 8-4 setback in the top men's doubles flight.

Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvador/ Escuela Americans) and Andrew Lai (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater) played to an 8-4 setback in the second flight as well.

Sorkin went three sets in the top singles flight, turning in a strong second before falling (6-3, 1-6, 6-3). Coan went three sets, falling (6-2, 4-6, 10-3).

The Red Devil women will next face Carnegie Mellon in Orlando, Florida on March 10th while the men square-off with Hampden-Sydney on March 11th.
