(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson first-year Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia / U. of Nebraska High School) was named the Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going 7-0 at the Drew University Ranger Invitational over the weekend.
Sorkin partnered with classmate Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis School) to roll through four round robin matches on Saturday.
The pair advanced to the A-flight bracket, winning the quarterfinals, 6-0, and advancing to the final with a 6-2 decision. They had a strong challenge in the final but turned back Wilkes University 6-4 to claim the title.
The Red Devils are on the road again this weekend, traveling to the College of New Jersey on Saturday. That match has been moved back to a 2:45 pm start time and will be played at the Hopewell Tennis Center.
