(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team had a strong meet, but fell to visiting Division II Bloomsburg University, 106-89, on Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center.
Sophomore Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) was a double-winner in the 200 individual medley and the 200 breaststroke, posting times of 2:00.74 and 2:18.23. He was third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.26. Senior Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.57) and added a silver with the 200 medley relay.
First-year Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) had an individual win in the 200 freestyle, clocking a time of 1:50.87 and joined the winning free relay. Senior Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) was second in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.77.
Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) went one-two in the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle events, putting up times of 10:24.30 and 4:59.89.
Catania touched the wall second in the 500 (5:10.12) while classmate Tommy Dunn (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) placed third in the 1000 with a mark of 11:11.05. Sophomore James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) was third in the 500, touching the wall in 5:18.21.
Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) anchored the winning free relay, and added second-place finishes in the 200 backstroke (2:14.13) and with the medley relay. First-year Colin Shea (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion) anchored the medley relay and swam the lead leg of the free as they combined for a time of 1:30.18.
Senior Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) added a silver in the 200 freestyle (1:54.77) while sophomore Ryan Lucas (Vienna, Va./James Madison) earned silver in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.55) and first-year Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) claimed bronze in the 400 individual medley (4:41.13).
The Red Devils slip to 3-2 overall. They travel to Messiah College on November 28, to face the Falcons at 7:00 pm.
