Goossens Battles But Falls 3-2 at CSA Championships

(Washington, D.C.) – Dickinson first-year Frank Goossens (Schaarbeekstraat, Amsterdam/Vossius Gymnasium) advanced to the second round of the consolation bracket of the Malloy Cup: B Division South at the 2018 College Squash Association Individual Championships.

Goossens battled but suffered 3-2 setback in a marathon match with the University of Pennsylvania's James Watson on Saturday. They traded sets throughout the match with Watson coming away with the victory (11-5, 8-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-2).

The Red Devils close out the season, following another strong campaign, finishing 12-8 overall on the year. They captured the Summers Cup: C Division Title, holding off Franklin & Marshall, 5-4, to finish with the highest national ranking in the program's four-year history, holding the #17 spot.
