(Geneva, N.Y.) – The #17-ranked Dickinson men's squash team topped #25-ranked Hobart College 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils jumped out to a quick 5-1 advantage with four players winning in straight sets. Zachary Hollander (Albany, N.Y./Millbrook) had a strong start, winning his flight (11-2, 11-1, 11-5).
First-year Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) posted his second straight win, allowing just 12 points in a 3-0 victory (11-5, 11-4, 11-3). Classmate Frank Goossens (Schaarbeetstraat, Amsterdam/Vossius Gymnasium) claimed the second flight in straight sets while sophomore Harrison Mayo (Penn Valley, Pa./Harriton) won 3-0 as well.
First-year Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udapor, India/Delhi Public) survived a 3-2 battle in the sixth fight (9-11, 11-6, 9-11, 5-11, 11-7) while Alex Wattles (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook) held on for a 3-2 win in the fifth.
Cory Litman (Lower Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) overcame a tough first set to win the fourth, 3-1 (6-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-5). First-year Finn Trimble (Whangarei, New Zealand / Whangarei) closed out the match with a great effort in the top flight, winning in five sets (8-11, 11-6, 4-11, 12-10, 11-8).
The Red Devils improve to 3-5 on the season. They return home to host Tufts University on Monday morning at 10:00 am.
