Haverford Holds Off Devils to Move Into First

(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team saw its six-match unbeaten streak come to an end on Saturday, falling 2-0 at Haverford College. The win moves Haverford into the top spot in the Centennial Conference as they improved to 6-1 while the Red Devils slip to 5-2-1.

Nick Janelli scored in the 37th minute and then assisted on an insurance goal from Max Krieg with 25 minutes remaining in the match.

Statistically, the match was relatively even with Dickinson holding a 15-13 advantage in shots while Haverford had a slim, 5-4, edge in corners.

Michael Iancono finished with eight saves for Haverford as they improve to 9-4 overall.

Junior goaltender Frederick Meagher (Southport, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) made four saves for the Red Devils as they move to 10-4-2 on the season.

The Red Devils are off midweek before returning home to face Johns Hopkins University in the regular season finale on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
