Mita joined the Cabrini staff after a successful playing career that began as an attackman at Conestoga High School. He helped lead his team to Central League titles in 2007 and 2009, before winning the District 1 championship and appearing in the 2009 PIAA State Championship.
Mita continued his playing career at Villanova University, where he played on three nationally ranked teams, making an appearance in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The midfielder also helped the Wildcats advance to the second round of the Big East Tournament in 2012 and 2013 and capture the 2013 Big East regular season title.
Following his playing career, Mita moved to the coaches’ box, where he has worked with some of the area’s best youth programs. While at Villanova, Mita spent three seasons as a volunteer assistant at Upper Merion High School, helping Vikings to the 2010 Suburban One-American Conference title.
Mita also helped lead St. Joseph’s Prep to the 2015 Catholic League and District 12 championships and an appearance in the PIAA State Championship.
The Berwyn native remains active in the youth coaching scene, as he currently works with the Duke’s Lacrosse Club.
