(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson junior Jillian Beemon (Ann Arbor, Mich./Skyline) was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South Region Field Hockey Team, announced on Wednesday.
Beemon was a Second-team selection on defense, earning All-Centennial Conference honors for the second straight year, elevating to the First-team this season.
Beemon stepped into a starting role at the end of her rookie season and has started every game for the past two years. She has been a standout defender with the ability to trigger the Red Devils in transition with strong field sense and a solid stick.
The Red Devils had a strong finish, allowing just four goals in the final six games while posting back-to-back shutouts to advance to the postseason. Beemon tallied a pair of defensive saves on the season, including one in the regular season finale against Gettysburg that secured a conference playoff bid. She added an assist in a key road win at McDaniel in the final playoff run as well.
The Red Devils won four of their final five games before suffering a 1-0 setback to Muhlenberg College in the first round of the playoffs. The two teams had a great match-up in the regular season with the Mules escaping 2-1, in penalty strokes. Dickinson finished 6-12 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
