(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson junior James Turner (Ridgefield, Conn./Suffield Academy) was named to the D3football.com All-South Region Football Team, announced on Tuesday.
Turner was a Second-team selection on defense after earning All-Centennial Conference honors for the second straight year as a First-team selection at linebacker.
Turner had a great start to the season, breaking the single-game tackle record in the opener against Washington & Lee University. The junior linebacker tallied 23 stops against the Generals and followed up that performance with 16 tackles, including 11 solos at Muhlenberg.
He recorded nine solo tackles in a big win at Juniata and had a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown against Gettysburg to keep the Little Brown Bucket in Carlisle.
Turner finished with exactly 100 tackles on the season, raising his career mark to 298 to move up to fourth all-time in program history. He added three interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. He tallied a pick-six in the home finale and added another on the final play of the game to secure a 36-29 win over Moravian.
Dickinson finished 4-6 overall and 4-5 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils earned seven spots on the All-Conference Team and had 13 players named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll this fall.
