F&M Opens Series With 7-2 Decision

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team scored two runs in the top of the ninth but fell 7-2 at Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday afternoon.

The Diplomats tallied runs in each of the first four innings and added a pair in the eighth for a 7-0 lead, scoring twice in the third as well.

Andrew Mascis allowed just two hits while recording seven strikeouts in eight innings.

Rookie catcher Chris Delsandro (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) doubled and had a sacrifice while Joey Volpe (Wall, N.J./St. Rose) recorded the other Devil hit.

Dan Marano went 4-for-5 with two RBI and one scored to lead F&M (16-14-2/9-5-1 CC).

Tommy Koide (Morristown, N.J./West Morris Mendham) recorded six strikeouts in seven innings before Alex Gusikoff (Ardmore, Pa./Malvern Prep) came on for the eighth.

The Red Devils are scheduled for a make-up game with Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
