(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team had another tough outing, facing a no-hitter from Washington College's P.J. Mikulus on the opener on Saturday.
Mikulus went the distance for a nine-inning no-hitter, spoiled by an error in the sixth as Brendan Pell (Delran, N.J./Penn Charter) was the only Devils to reach safely. He finished with seven strikeouts.
Connor Langan (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) had a strong start on the hill as well, allowing just three hits through six innings. Alex Cohen (Newtown Square, Pa./Penn Charter) came on to allow just two hits in the final 3-0 innings of the 7-0 setback.
The Red Devils showed some more offense in the nightcap, but suffered a 13-5 decision. Dickinson was tied 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth but Washington would tally in on the fifth and three in the sixth for a 9-5 advantage. They tallied a pair in the eighth and ninth innings for the final.
Daniel Zamarin (Blue Bell, Pa./Germantown Academy) added two hits, two RBIs and a run scored.
The Red Devils slip to 6-19 overall and 3-7 in the Centennial Conference standings. They are scheduled to host Penn State Harrisburg at 4:00 pm.
