Rams Score Early to Top Devils 7-4

(Lake Myrtle, Fla.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision to Suffolk University on Monday night. The Rams scored five runs in the first inning behind a three-run homer from JC Collette.

 

Suffolk added a sacrifice fly and an RBI single from Mike Muse after three straight walks loaded the bases.

 

Collette added an RBI single in the third to stretch the lead to 6-1. Benn Parker (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) singled, stole third and scored on a wild pitch to put the Devils on the board in the fifth inning.

 

Mac Jaconson reached on a walk and came in to score on a single from Jake Cintolo to make the score, 7-1, in the sixth. Steven Haynes (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) doubled and scored off the bat of Bryton Peternel (Allison Park, Pa./Central Catholic) in the bottom half of the inning.

 

Mike DeVivo (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and Hank Sanders (Wellesville, Pa./Northern) each singled and stole a base, and Haynes drove in both with a single in the seventh inning for the final of 7-4.

 

Bryan Wacker (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) suffered the loss on the mound. Tyler Clauson-Wolf (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends) recorded four strikeouts and allowed just one hit in five innings of work. Keenan Howard (Lansdale, Pa./Germantown Academy) came in to close in the ninth.

 

The Red Devils slip to 4-6 on the season. They return to action on Wednesday, facing Becker College at 3:30 pm.
