Devil Women Claim Second at Centennial Championships

(Gettysburg, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's cross country team placed second at the 2009 Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday. The Devils, ranked 18th-nationally, scored 49 points to finish behind #2-ranked Johns Hopkins, who scored 26 points. Haverford College was third with 85.

 

Sophomore Catherine Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) led the Red Devils with a sixth place finish to earn First-team All-Conference honors. She finished with a time of 23:19.

 

Kim Powell (Canton, Conn./Canton) finished eighth with a time of 23:44, followed by Mary Hamilton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) in ninth with a time of 23:49. They were joined on the All-Conference Second-team by Sarah Romano (Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) and Julie Platt (Wynnewood, Pa./Springside), who placed 12th and 14th, respectively, with times of 24:09 and 24:13.

 

The Red Devils will compete at the NCAA Mideast Regionals on November 14th at Lehigh University.
