Campbell Named to All-Academic Cross Country Team

(Carlisle, Pa.) - Dickinson College sophomore Catherine Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) has been named to the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country Team.

 

The USTFCCCA All-Academic award honors student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade-point-average and must finish in the top 35 among the field at their respective NCAA Regional Championship.

 

188 honorees represent 92 schools around the country. Bethel University's Marie Borner was named the 2009 Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Borner won the 2008 individual title, and placed second at the 2009 championships.

 

Campbell and the Red Devils placed second at the Regional Meet and 18th at the 2009 National Championships. Campbell earned All-Region honors, placing 11th in the region.
