(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team turned in three strong sets and had a great finish in the third but couldn't get past Franklin & Marshall on Thursday night, falling 3-0 in Lancaster. The Diplomats claimed the opening two sets with identical 25-19 scores and rallied to claim the third, 27-25, for a 2-0 start in Centennial Conference play.

The Red Devils jumped out to an 8-4 lead in the opening set and led 16-15 before an F&M run put the Diplomats in front 24-16. Dickinson looked to rally, scoring three straight points before F&M closed out the set.

The second went back-and-forth the entire way with the Diplomats holding off the Devils to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Devils led 17-12 in the third, but the hosts made a 4-0 run and the teams played to a tie at 25. Casey Morrow tallied a pair of kills to close out the match, 27-25.

Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) led the Red Devils with seven kills and four digs. Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) handed out 12 assists while Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) reached double-figures with 10 digs.

Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) tallied four aces and had nine digs, and Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) and Hannah Riley (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) combined for 11 kills.

The Red Devils slip to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Muhlenberg College on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
