Red Devils Take Two in Saturday Sweep

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team had a great Saturday, sweeping matches from Ursinus and Lancaster Bible College at the Kline Center.

The Red Devils opened with a 3-0 sweep of Ursinus, posting scores of (25-12, 25-21, 25-20). First-year Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) led the attack with 11 kills and five aces, adding seven digs.

Senior Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) tallied nine kills while classmate Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) added eight kills and served a pair of aces.

Junior Megan Gombatz (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) added six kills and first-year Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegia Puertorriqueno de Ninas) picked up 10 digs and had two assists.

First-year setter Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 29 assists to go with two aces and a pair of kills.

The Red Devils battled with Lancaster Bible for a 3-0 win as well, turning back the Chargers (25-20, 25-18, 25-19).

Park and Singer each reached double-figures with 10 kills, each adding a pair of kills as the Devils tallied 13 combined in the match. Singer picked up a team-high 14 digs as well while Park added three blocks to her career total. Park becomes the fifth player in program history to record over 200 career blocks.

Lopez chipped in with 11 digs, four assists and five service aces with Allgaier added 23 assists.

The Red Devils improve to 8-10 on the season and 2-3 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm start.
