Misrok Breaks Single Season Dig Record

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at Franklin & Marshall in the season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 setback to host F&M and fell to Moravian 3-1.

Senior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) set the school, single-season dig record with 511 on the year, over taking Amanda Hayes' 2006 mark of 510.

The Diplomats claimed the opener with set scores of (25-15, 25-15, 25-18) behind 11 kills from Ellie Ezekiel.

Junior Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) led the Devils with 10 kills and 11 digs while classmate Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) tallied five kills and a pair of blocks.

Misrok recorded 15 digs while classmate Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and junior Emeline Jones (Hamilton, N.Y./Hamilton) each had five.

Jones added seven assists to match first-year Leah Guzick (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) while Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) handed out four.

The Red Devils fell to Moravian College, 3-1, in the nightcap to finished even at 13-13 overall. The Greyhounds claimed the first two sets with identical scores of 25-21. The Red Devils worked overtime to take the third, 26-24. Moravian won the fourth, 25-15, to close out the match.

Misrok tallied 30 digs in the match to break the record, adding three assists and a pair of aces. Park led the attack with 12 kills and five blocks while Bongo added nine kills and 10 digs.

Lauren Beecher (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and Ahern recorded eight and seven kills, respectively, with Berezan and Guzick combining for 31 assists. Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and Jones lied 11 and 10 digs in the match.
