Owls Survive Marathon To Top Devils, 3-2

(Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's volleyball team suffered a heartbreaker on Saturday, falling in a tight match at Bryn Mawr, 3-2. The Owls won the first and third sets by identical 25-21 scores. The Red Devils claimed the second, 25-18, and survived a marathon fourth set, 28-26. Bryn Mawr would capture the fifth set and the match with a 15-11 decision.

 

Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) led the Devil attack with 14 kills and nine digs. Emily Kisak (Columbia, Md./Howard) and Jessy Cooper (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly ) each recorded 12 kills with Cooper adding three blocks as well.

 

First-year Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) recorded 39 assists and 13 digs while classmate Joanna De Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) tallied 16 digs and served three aces.

 

Mikecia Witherspoon led Bryn Mawr (9-8, 3-3) with 21 kills, 14 digs and four blocks.

 

The Red Devils slip to 5-13 overall and 2-4 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Franklin & Marshall for a 7:00pm match.
