Devils Play Well in Loss to Johns Hopkins
(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College volleyball team played well on Wednesday but couldn't post a win against visiting Johns Hopkins University.
The Blue Jays opened with a 25-18 win in the first set and survived a scare from the Red Devils in a 26-24 battle in the second as they rallied from behind. Hopkins closed out the match, taking the third set, 25-19.
First-year setter Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) led the Devils with 24 assists and 10 digs. Junior Kaylee Britain (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) and sophomore Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) each recorded eight kills to lead the Devil attack while Jessy Cooper (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) added seven on the night. Britain and Zuvic tallied nine of the Devils 14 kills in the third set.
First-year Joanna De Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) recorded 14 digs and served three aces.
The Red Devils are home again on Saturday, hosting Muhlenberg at 1:00 pm.
