Diplomats Top Devils in 2010 Season Opener

(Huntingdon, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Franklin & Marshall in its season opener on Friday night.
The Diplomats, picked to finish first in the Centennial Conference in the preseason coaches' poll, earned the win with scores of 25-7, 25-16, 25-17.
Sophomore Jessy Cooper (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) recorded three kills and three blocks while first-year Jessie Shaffner (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) tallied three kills and a pair of solo blocks.
First-year Emily Kisak (Columbia, Md./Howard) added three kills and a pair of blocks, and Kaylee Britain (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) served two aces to go with four blocks on the night. First-year Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) had nine assists.
The Red Devils (0-1) continue play in the Juniata Invitational on Saturday, facing Christopher Newport at 1:00 pm. They take on the #2-ranked, host Eagles at 5:00 pm.
