Garnet Tops Devils 3-1 in Volleyball
| (Swarthmore, Pa.)- The Dickinson College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback at Swarthmore on Saturday. The Red Devils trailed 2-0, (25-16, 26-24), before winning the third set, 25-14. Swarthmore regrouped to capture the match with a 25-12 decision in the fourth. | |
Ely Gosheva (Sofia, Bulgaria/American U. of Sofia) led the Devils with 12 kills while Kristen Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) added seven kills and eight digs.
Senior libero Amanda Hayes (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian)recorded match-high 20 digs. Chelsea Winkert (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) tallied seven kills, 29 assists, 12 digs and three blocks.
Genny Pezzola led Swarthmore (14-6, 4-1) with 19 kills and 18 digs.
The Red Devils slip to 5-11 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to host McDaniel College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
