4x400 Relay Claims Fifth at Penn Relays

(Philadelphia, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's track and field teams turned in some outstanding performances at the 125th Penn Relays on Thursday at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) was just shy of her collegiate-best in the 5000-meters, crossing the line with a time of 17:09.21 to finish 30th overall among primarily Division I runners. She clocked the second-best D-III time, ranking just behind her own fifth-place mark in program history.

The women's 4x400 relay finished fifth with a time of 4:06.87. Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) ran the lead and anchor legs with Liana Tabtiang (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) and Lilianna Matala (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame – Bishop Gibbons) in the middle.

Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) ran to a time of 14:58.55 in the men's 5000-meters.

The Red Devils are in action this weekend, competing at the Blue Jay Invitational at Elizabethtown College.
