(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team traveled to the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had a strong showing in the 5000 meters led by sophomore Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) in second with a time of 18:34.35. Eve Charest (Greenfield, Mass./Northfield Mount Hermon) and Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) crossed the line third and fourth with Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham) coming in sixth.
Amelia Lufrano (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) and Teressa Healy (Pelham, N.Y./Loyola School) placed fifth and sixth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with times of 12:53.99 and 12:56.23, and Natalie Ginez (Dayton, N.J./South Brunswick) was eighth.
In the 100 meter dash Wrutoe Bonwin (Lynn, Mass./KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate) ran to a ninth place finish with a mark of 13.75.
The Red Devils had three runners in the top-10 of the 1500 meters. Kelsey Horowitz (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) was second, just ahead of Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) with times of 4:51.62 and 4:51.92, while Caitlin Farrell (Glastonbury, Conn./Loomis Chafee) crossed the line seventh with a mark of 5:07.98.
Dickinson also placed three runners in the top-10 of the 400 meters. Liana Tabtiang (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) came across in 1:02.54 to place fourth with Natalie Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) and Sofie Brown (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) placed seventh and 10th.
Tabtiang had another fourth-place showing in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 27.00 flat.
The Red Devils put together a two-three-four showing in the 800 as Olivia Gerstenbacher (Elmer, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick), Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Macallan Fox (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) clocked times of 2:21.69, 2:22.33 and 2:24.05, respectively.
The Red Devils dominated the 4x400 relay, capturing first and second with times of 4:12.30 and 4:26.49. They posted a fourth place finish in the 4x100.
There was no team scoring for the Invite. The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at Messiah College next weekend.
