Butali Named Centennial Track & Field Athlete of the Week
(Lancaster, Pa.) - Dickinson senior Vivian Butali (Fairfax, Va./National Cathedral) was named the Centennial Conference Track & Field, Field Athlete of the Week.
Butali led the Red Devils to the 2012 Du Charme Invitational team title on Saturday, scoring 30 points on the day. She captured the triple jump with a distance of 10.40 meters, placed second in the 200 (28.74), and posted a pair of thirds in the 55 meters (7.66) and the long jump (4.86m).
Aaron Pannell (Trenton, N.J./Notre Dame) was named to the honor roll with an outstanding performance as well. Pannell led the Dickinson men to the Du Charme Invitational team title, scoring 34 points with a pair of wins in the 55 meters (6.52) and the long jump (6.40m), while placing second in the 200 meters (23.31) and third in the triple jump (12.93m).
Pannell was also named the S.A.A.C. Red Devil Athlete of the Week, along with sophomore Olivia Schumann (Manorville, N.Y./Bishop McGann Mercy) who broke the school and Kline Center records with a time of 43.22 in the 300 meters.
