(Westminster, Md) - The Dickinson College women's track and field team had perhaps its best meet of the season, turning in a series of strong results Wednesday evening at McDaniel College.

The Devils won every distance event except for the 5000 meters. In the 1500, sophomore Taylor Ludman (Willow Street, Pa./Solanco) opened up a massive gap on the field early in the race and never looked back, cruising to the win in a time of 5:03.58.

Red Devil runners swept the top three spots in the 800, led by junior Mary Nolte (Laurel, Md./Atholton). Sophomores Rachel Brown (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and Emily Miller (Lenhartsville, Pa./Kutztown) ran to second and third, respectively. Their times were, in order, 2:23.89, 2:25.32 and 2:25.66.

Nolte and Miller set season bests, just four days after running a 5k, and Brown's time was a career best as well. Miller, Nolte, Brown, and Ludman later teamed up to win the distance medley relay in 13 minutes, 35.96 seconds.

Sophomore Emily Knight (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) grabbed the day's other distance win, taking first in the 3000 meter steeplechase by seven seconds in 12:39.26.

First-year Stacey Adamcik (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrenceville) made it a hurdles sweep, winning the 100 and 400 meter hurdles. Her times were 17.59, tying her season best and 70.62 seconds.

The 4x100 was perhaps the most entertaining race of the day. There, first-year Olivia Schumann (Manorville, N.Y./Bishop McGann Mercy) took the baton with a deficit of a few meters, and blew by the other two teams to win the race easily in 52.30 seconds.

She was joined on the relay by Adamcik, Vivian Butali (Silver Spring, Md./National Cathedral), and Lauren Holtz (Davis, Calif./Davis). Butali later won the triple jump; her hop, skip, and jump of 10.88m (35-8.5), was her best of the year.

Also in the field, junior Chelsea Johnson (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven), and first-years Kristina Link (Wayne, PA/Radnor), and Kathleen Lyons (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) tied for second in the high jump at 1.42m (4-8).

The Red Devils return to competition next weekend.  They will be sending split squads to Bucknell on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14, and Messiah on Saturday.
